Vaccinations and healthchecks
Please remember that annual vaccinations must be carried out on or before the date that they were done the previous year, otherwise the whole course of vaccinations must start again. We send out reminders for annual vaccinations. We offer a 5% discount on prompt annual vaccination.
Dogs
The practice recommends a minimum of an annual examination, weight check and vaccinations right through from the puppy stage to the adult stage. For puppies, the first vaccine is given from 8 weeks of age, with the second at 10 weeks. For adult dogs, vaccination is done annually but the vaccine given does depend on the individual dog's previous vaccination status.
Vaccinations are to protect against the following diseases:
- Distemper
- Hepatitis
- Parvovirus
- Parainfluenza
- Leptospirosis
Cats
The practice recommends a minimum of an annual examination, weight check and vaccinations right through from the kitten stage to the adult stage. For kittens, the first vaccine is given from 9 weeks of age, with the second at 12 weeks. For adult cats, vaccination is done annually.
Vaccinations are to protect against the following diseases:
- Cat Flu
- Enteritis
- Leukaemia
Rabbits
The practice recommends a minimum of an annual examination, weight check and vaccinations for all rabbits. Vaccinations are to protect against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease.
