3rd November 2014 | In House Training
On Monday 27th October 2014, following a couple of days over the weekend moving equipment from our former Stamford Street surgery, Ian McConnell Veterinary Practice opened it’s doors to clients and pets in the former Mossley Library on Wyre Street. With just a short glitch shortly after 8am with the new phone system, our first week has been exciting, diverse and full of surprises. We have received some wonderful comments from our clients and visitors to the new surgery and we can all now truly say that we are ready for the next chapter of providing affordable and common-sense treatment to Mossley’s pets.
If there’s one question that’s been asked more than any other over the past few days it’s “when are you having an open day?” Obviously we wanted to make sure that the team here settled in fully (it is a bit of a culture shock from working in a rather cramped environment, to having about five times more space!) plus of course, the chance to iron out any teething problems. Just today though we have decided that we will hold an Official Opening Event on Sunday 30th November between 11am and 4pm. As more details become available, we’ll post them on the website and our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
The last “official” images from the old practice are below and show Stacey (one of our almost-qualified vet nurses) sweeping the consultation room for the last time Ian McConnell sitting in the reception that has seen thousands of clients and pets come and go during the past 14 years:
Of course, as you’ll see if you are able to come and visit us on 30th November, we’ve a bit more space for everything and it’s great (so people have already told us) that this iconic Mossley landmark has been given a face lift and a real community use in the 21st Century. Ironically, the room in which we held a couple of client evenings in the George Lawton Hall, is now the smaller Mossley Library and we will be re-introducing our very popular evenings in our very own arena room in the new practice over the coming months and years. Below are a couple of pictures of our separate dog and cat seating areas, our state-of-art hospital-standard surgical preparation area and new-look reception area and retail spaces. Please don’t feel that you have to wait until the end of the month to stop by, you are more than welcome to all in and see us anytime – our opening times are Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 11am.
